May 28 7.14 About a week later, Jesus took Peter, James and John to a Mount to pray privately. While he prayed,1 his face shone as the sun and his clothing became white as light. Moses and Elijah appeared in glory2 and talked with him about his imminent departure from Jerusalem. Peter and his companions, who had been fast asleep, became fully awake and saw the glory of Jesus and the two men with Jesus. As Moses and Elijah left Jesus, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, its good we live here. Lets make three tents - one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” Peter spoke not knowing what he said, for they were very afraid. A bright cloud enveloped them. A voice spoke3 from the cloud, “Listen to This My Beloved Son, My Most Pleasing One.”4 Terrified, the disciples fell on their faces. Jesus came and touched them, saying, “Rise up and do not fear.” Suddenly, as they looked around, they saw only Jesus.
