Jul 23 8.21 One Sabbath, he taught in a synagogue. There was a woman who, for eighteen years, had been bent double by a spirit of infirmness, and could not stand erect. Jesus called and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity” and he laid hands on her.

Immediately, she stood erect and praised God. Indignant because Jesus healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue ruler said to the people, “There are six days for work, come for healing then, instead of on the Sabbath.”

But the Lord said, “Hypocrites! Dont you, on the  Sabbath1 untie your animals from their stalls to water them? Then shouldnt this daughter of Abraham, who has been bound by Satan these eighteen years, be freed on the Sabbath?” His answer shamed his critics and the crowd rejoiced over his glorious works.
