Aug 24 9.17 On finishing his speech, Jesus left Galilee for Judeas boundary across the Jordan. Great crowds followed and he, as usual, taught and healed them1 there. Some Pharisees came to test him, saying, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for every cause?” He replied, “Havent you read that in the beginning, God made them male and female and said, for this reason shall a man leave his parents and cleave to his wife and the two shall become one flesh. So, they are one flesh not two. What God has joined together, let no man separate.” The Pharisees asked, “Then, why did Moses command a decree of divorce?”

Jesus replied, “Because of your stubborn hearts, Moses allowed what wasnt ordained from the beginning. But I say, whoever divorces his wife, except for fornication, and marries another commits adultery.” His disciples said, “If it is so between husband and wife, its better not to marry.”

Jesus replied, “Everyone cannot accept this teaching, only those to whom it is given. For some are born eunuchs, some made so by men, and others make themselves eunuchs because of Gods kingdom. Let him who can, accept this.”
