May 26 7.13 From then on Jesus revealed to them how he must go to Jerusalem and be persecuted by the elders, chief priests and scribes, be killed1 and on the third day resurrect. Peter rebuked Him, saying, “God forbid this happens to you, Lord!”

Turning to him, Jesus replied, “Away from me, Satan, you stumbling block. You dont mind the things of God, but those of men.”

May 27 Then Jesus said to the crowd and his disciples, “Anyone following me must deny himself and bear his cross; whoever wants to save his life will lose it; whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospels shall find it.2 How does a man profit if he gains the whole world, yet loses his soul? What will he give in exchange for his soul? Whoever is ashamed3 of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of man will be ashamed, when he shall come in his Fathers glory and with his holy angels, to reward everyones works.4 Truly, some are standing here who will not taste death till they see the Son of man coming in his and Gods kingdom with power.5
