10.7 Taught How a Seed Dies and Fruits Again

10.7 Jesus said, “The hour to glorify the Son has come. Truly, unless a seed of wheat falls into the soil and dies, it remains alone. But if it dies, it produces much seed. Whoever loves his life, loses it. Whoever hates his life in this world, keeps it for eternal life.1

Sep 13 Whoever serves me must follow me, that where I am he will be also. The Father honors whoever serves me. As my soul is troubled,2 should I say, Father, save me from this hour? No! For this cause3 I am here. Father, glorify Your name.” So a voice from heaven spoke,4 “I_have glorified it and will do so again.” The crowd nearby heard and said it was the thunder. Others said, “An angel spoke to him.”

Jesus answered, “This voice spoke for your sake, not mine. Now this world is judged,5 now this worlds ruler will be expelled. But when Im lifted up,6 Ill draw all men to me.” He said this to indicate how he was to die. The people replied, “Our law says the Christ will remain forever.7 How can you say, The Son of man must be lifted up? Who is He?”

Sep 14 Jesus said, “The light will be among you a while longer. Walk while you have the light,8 before darkness overtakes you and you wont know your destination. While you have the light, believe in the light to become sons of light.” Then he left and hid from them.9

Even after Jesus had done so many miracles, they   wouldnt believe in him. This fulfilled10 Isaiahs prophecy, “Lord, who has believed our report? To whom has the  Lords arm been revealed?” So, they couldnt believe, for again Isaiah said, “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, lest they should see and understand and turn, and I will heal them.” Isaiah said this because he saw his glory and spoke about him.11

Sep 15 Nevertheless, many among the leaders believed in him, but wouldnt confess him publicly, lest the Pharisees expel them from the synagogue; they loved mens approval more than Gods.12

Jesus called out, “Whoever believes in me, believes rather in Him who sent me. Whoever sees me, sees Him who sent me. I have come into the world as light, so that no believer will remain in darkness.13 I dont judge those who hear my words without obeying, for I didnt come to judge the world, but to save it. Whoever rejects me and my words, will be judged in the last day by the word I have spoken. I didnt speak on my own,14 the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and speak. I know His commandment is eternal life. Whatever He has instructed me to say, that I say.”
